What's the difference!?

So the other day my mother and I somehow stumbled upon the subject of heterosexual 'relations' (I dont like saying the 'S' word) vs homosexual 'relations'. Not in great detail but she was just talking about if a female was involved with a male who plays for both teams she should be careful when he cheats with men. I brought up the argument of what is the difference whether he cheats with men than if he cheated with a woman, its all the same diseases. Then she came back with well its more dangerous with a man. This boggled my mind that she would make one more dangerous than the other. If someone is not protected when having relations with either gender it will be just as bad. My mother is an open minded person, some of the people she was close to growing up were homosexual males including her voice teacher and one of her best friends. This best friend whom she made my Godfather. My godfather who was one of the first wave of homosexuals to die from AIDS in the 80's. A disease that was known as gay disease which we all now know is not true. Maybe thats why she sees it as more dangerous because she know gay men whom have perished from this epidemic but not straight men or women, maybe thats it. As a lover of all people(well except for douche bags and whores) specially mah gays ,lezzies and bi-bi-bi's I just say everyone be safe, you already know the drill protect yourself yada yada.
